Discover Singapore’s ArtScience Museum
Your Marina Bay experience will never be complete without visiting the ArtScience Museum. ArtScience Museum is the first in the world. It is a famous attraction of Marina Bay Sands opened last February 2011. When you see the structure, you will think of hands. Others thought of the structure as a banana or a lotus flower. The developers are proud of the structure because of its practicality. Rainwater is collected at the center of the building which is recycled for the building’s restrooms.
Here’s what you need to know about ArtScience Museum:
You can choose between permanent exhibition and travelling exhibitions. Permanent exhibition comprises of three galleries (Curiosity, Inspiration and Expression). Travelling exhibitions change presentations or exhibitions over a period of time. For 2013, you can see The Art of the Brick and Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb (opening April 27, 2013).
The museum offers different amenities for visitors to enhance their experience. There are information and general assistance centers if you need to ask something. For bulky items, you can leave it at the Bag Check counters; it is advisable not to bring bulky or sharp objects. There are souvenir shops and cafes you can go to if you want to relax. Don’t worry because there is First Aid room if you feel uncomfortable or sick.
You can choose to ride your car, ride a taxi, MRT or bus. Car park is at the North Car Park of the Marina Bay Sands. Taxis are convenient if you want to get there fast. If you decide to take the bus, look for SBS 97, 97E, 133M, 502 and 518. For MRT, make sure to reach Bayfront, Promenade or Marina Bay stations then you can walk from there.
